Gibson Custom Shop Super 200 Custom Cutaway Prototype at Pittsburgh Guitars

2000 Gibson Super 200 Cutaway Custom Prototype
Here is your opportunity to own a very cool one-of-a-kind guitar. The label reads 2000 NAMM SAMPLE #1. This blonde beauty is a prototype from the Gibson Custom Shop for the Super 200 Cutaway Custom. Built in the Montana Gibson Custom Shop in 1999 and Introduced at the 2000 NAMM Show, it was designed as a flattop jazzbox, based on the classic J-200 model, with a cutaway and Super 400-Style appointments. In Antique Natural finish, it has a Super Jumbo body, crafted with a hand-selected solid Sitka spruce top and highly figured maple back and sides. The ebony fretboard is adorned with unique mother-of-pearl split block inlays, with mother-of-pearl inlays on the bridge as well as the pickguard. A Venetian cutaway allows full access of the fingerboard. The tuners are gold Grover Imperials and are slightly tarnished. It has a sound that is "...a perfect blend of the rich bass and big volume of the J-200, with the warm mids of the archtops." This guitar sounds spectacular! The guitar is in excellent overall condition, with some light scratches and dings, light belt-buckle scratches on the back, and a little finish checking on the front under the bridge, and a probable bridge reset. Our guitar tech set it up with light gauge Martin strings. The pickguard was lifting and he re-glued it. Price includes original hard case, and loads of the original paperwork, including a Certificate of Authenticity and an Acoustic Guitar magazine article announcing the model, with this exact guitar's picture included. Our customer saw it in the magazine and acquired that exact guitar for his father!

Gibson Custom Shop Super 200 Custom Cutaway Prototype at Pittsburgh Guitars

1965 Martin D-18
This is a sweet guitar looking for a good home! Constructed with a solid spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides, a rosewood fingerboard, and tortoise pickguard and binding, it is a great-sounding, easy-playing Martin dreadnought from the 1960s. It has seen a few miles and has the honest playwear to show for it. Before we got it the neck was reset, it was re-fretted, and  the bridge and saddle were replaced. It has the original bridge plate. An end pin jack was removed and a newstrap button added in our shop. It also has new bridge pins. It is in very good condition, with some finish checking, lots of finish scratches and dings, and some bare wood. It has a lot of pick scratches, on and below the pickguard. The lower fret positions show a lot of fingerboard wear; the new frets, however, show no significant wear. It comes with a hard case.

c. 1928 Paramount Style B Tenor banjo at Pittsburgh Guitars 1928 Paramount Style B Tenor Banjo
Famous the world over in its time, and highly sought after by dance band players in the 1920s, Paramount banjos were marketed as "The Banjo with Piano Volume and Harp Quality." The position markers are a fancy pearl design, and the headstock is decorated with stylish pearl inlays. This banjo is almost completely original, with calfskin head, and in excellent overall condition given its age. It has assorted dings and scratches, one replacement tuner, and the playwear you'd expect from an 86-year old instrument. There is a crack in the heel that was repaired when we got it. Price includes good original hard case. (picture - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7)
