Gibson Custom Shop Super 200 Custom Cutaway Prototype at Pittsburgh Guitars

2000 Gibson Super 200 Cutaway Custom Prototype
Here is your opportunity to own a very cool one-of-a-kind guitar. The label reads 2000 NAMM SAMPLE #1. This blonde beauty is a prototype from the Gibson Custom Shop for the Super 200 Cutaway Custom. Built in the Montana Gibson Custom Shop in 1999 and Introduced at the 2000 NAMM Show, it was designed as a flattop jazzbox, based on the classic J-200 model, with a cutaway and Super 400-Style appointments. In Antique Natural finish, it has a Super Jumbo body, crafted with a hand-selected solid Sitka spruce top and highly figured maple back and sides. The ebony fretboard is adorned with unique mother-of-pearl split block inlays, with mother-of-pearl inlays on the bridge as well as the pickguard. A Venetian cutaway allows full access of the fingerboard. The tuners are gold Grover Imperials and are slightly tarnished. It has a sound that is "...a perfect blend of the rich bass and big volume of the J-200, with the warm mids of the archtops." This guitar sounds spectacular! The guitar is in excellent overall condition, with some light scratches and dings, light belt-buckle scratches on the back, and a little finish checking on the front under the bridge, and a probable bridge reset. Our guitar tech set it up with light gauge Martin strings. The pickguard was lifting and he re-glued it. Price includes original hard case, and loads of the original paperwork, including a Certificate of Authenticity and an Acoustic Guitar magazine article announcing the model, with this exact guitar's picture included. Our customer saw it in the magazine and acquired that exact guitar for his father!

Natural hand-rubbed finish on a solid spruce top with mahogany-patterned HPL (high pressure laminate) back and sides, and factory-installed Fishman Sonitone electronics. Used 1999 Martin DXM at Pittsburgh Guitars 1999 Martin DXM
A label inside states that this guitar was once owned -- and is now signed -- by Rockabilly Hall of Fame artist Larry Lee Phillipson. It is constructed of a spruce patterned HPL (high pressure laminate) top, and mahogany patterned HPS back and sides. It has a herringbone pattern rosette, and a tortoise colored pickguard. This guitar is in excellent overall condition, with a couple small dings on the back of the neck heel, and a scuff on the front. Price includes a hard TKL case. Natural gloss finish on an original Breedlove concert shaped body with soft cutaway. Features include a solid Sitka spruce top and bubinga back and sides, rtosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, abalone rosette, and onboard electronics. Key to Descriptions

Before we sell any used instrument, we send it through our repair shop for a complete set up. But because they're used, we've worked out the following descriptions to let you know how used they are. We'll be happy to give you more information via phone or email.

Mint Condition--like new, no wear
Excellent condition
--some play wear, maybe some small dings or light surface scratches
Very good condition
--a few scratches, some dings and/or lacquer chips, but structurally sound, normal play wear
Good condition--structurally sound, has been played a lot, some repairs or cosmetic flaws possible
Fair condition--a well-loved guitar, may have some problems, but we'll describe them as accurately as possible
As-is--needs work
