2012 Gibson Flying V at Pittsburgh Guitars 2012 Flying V
Ebony gloss finish with a rosewood fingerboard and in excellent overall condition. Features include a mahogany body with two humbucking pickups, a 496R in the neck and a 500T in the bridge, 3-way switching with 1 tone and 2 volume controls, a Tune-o-Matic bridge with stop bar tailpiece, and Grover Kluson-style tuning gears. It has some light surface scratches, common on black guitars, and a couple small scuff marks, and the pickguard has a small crack at the bottom. The previous owner added strap locks. 1996 Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster
Based on Vaughan's "Number One" strat, in 3-Color Sunburst finish and in excellent condition with a couple small dings and light surface scratches, nothing through the finish. It features Texas Special pickups, reverse vintage style tremolo bridge, gold-plated hardware, and an engraved SRV pickguard. Price includes equally clean original hard tweed case with lots of original paperwork. (picture - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5)

2013 `60s Lacquer Strat at Pittsburgh Guitars 2013 Classic Series `60s Strat Lacquer
Sunburst finish with rosewood fingerboard, and in near-mint condition. Features include an alder body with nitrocellulose lacquer finish, maple modern "C" shaped neck, vintage-style single-coil Alnico magnet pickups with 5-way switching, and vintage-style hardware. Price includes original hard tweed case and all the original case candy. (picture - 2)
2014 Fender Classic Series `50s Strat at Pittsburgh Guitars 2014 Coronado II
Sparkling Candy Apple Red finish with a bound rosewood fingerboard with white pearloid block inlays. Features include a semi-hollow maple body with alder center-block, bound F-holes, two Fideli-Tron humbucking pickups, and 3-way switching. This guitar is in near-mint condition, with no dings or scratches, no visible playwear, and the plastic still on the pickguard. It does not have a case! (picture - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6)

1964 Gretsch Country Gentleman at Pittsburgh Guitars

1964 Gretsch Country Gentleman
This is a one-owner guitar, in amazingly clean condition. 100% original, it features a Filter'Tron pickup in the bridge, which, according to the info that came with it from the factory, is "to give you perfection in brilliant highs," and a Super'Tron II Jazz pickup in the neck position, likewise "to give the player total performance at all levels." And it has the Gretsch "Action Flow" fret nut for "perfect Fret level playing action." It's very clean, with perfect binding. It has a couple small dings here and there, and some coil-cable marks on the back. There is some wear on the gold plating, and discoloration in a couple spots around the back of the neck, which is not through the finish. Price includes equally-clean original hard case with all of the original paperwork. (picture - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10)

1967 Le Baye 2 x 4 at Pittsburgh Guitars 1967 Le Baye 2x4
One of only 45 made, this guitar is all original, with the exception of the neck pickup which was rewound by Tom Brantley. The 2x4 is "famous" for having been used by Tommy James & The Shondells (for about 15 minutes), and it features 2 single coil pickups with a 3-way selector switch, and a rosewood fingerboard with pearl inlays. This one is red, and in excellent overall condition, with some lacquer chips on the front, sides, and back. Price includes original hard case. (picture - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5)

Single cutaway hollow body guitar in Dark Cherry Red, made in Japan (pre-Fender). This guitar is in excellent condition. It features a laminated maple body 16" wide, a bound rosewood fingerboard with Neo-Classic "Thumbnail" inlays, two Filter'Tron pickups, a Gretsch Bigsby tailpiece, and chrome-plated hardware. It's really clean, and is a great example of a classic. Price includes original hard case. (picture - 2 - 3)
2004 Rickenbacker 620FG at Pittsburgh Guitars

1966 Epiphone Olympic Double
Cherry finish, made in USA, and all original. Features include a rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, two single-coil pickups, and Maestro vibrato. It's in excellent overall condition for its age, with some light scratches and small dings, and some finish checking. Price includes original chipboard case which is in poor condition, and missing the handle. (picture - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 - 11 - 12)

2014 Guild Aristocrat at Pittsburgh Guitars

2014 Guild M-75 Aristocrat
Part of Guild's Newark Street Series, the M-75 Aristocrat is based on a classic Guild model from the 1950s. It is crafted with a mahogany body topped with arched laminated spruce, a combination that gives it a beefy, resonant voice. Other features include a 3-piece mahogany/maple/mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard and pearloid block inlays, a pair of special Guild "Frequency Tested" single-coil pickups, individual volume and tone controls, and gold-plated hardware. This one is exceptionally clean, with no dings or finish chips. Price includes original hard case in equally-clean condition. (picture - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7)

c. 1968 Yamaha SA-30T Pittsburgh Guitars

c. 1968 Yamaha SA-30T
Manufactured in Japan between 1967 and 1972, the SA-30T is a semi-hollow body, double cutaway guitar that features set neck construction, with 2 pickups, 3-way switching, and three knobs -- Volume, Tone, and Balancer. This one is in very clean condition for its age, with some small dings and chips in the finish, and a couple larger scrapes. It has lots of playwear around the edges of the neck, and is missing the pickguard.
From a 1968 Yamaha catalog: "A truly outstanding thin body acoustic electric guitar for the modern guitarist. The versatile tone quality of this instrument produces greater variations than every before offered in any instrument in its price range. You must experience the all new mike balancer that allows you to select the tonal effects you wish. The thin, fast action neck is fully adjustable to meet the guitarist's individual action requirements....The 'feather touch' tremolo arm is newly designed to insure return to accurate pitch..."

1965 Klira Triumphator Pittsburgh Guitars

1965 Klira Triumphator / Golden Eagle
An unusual, rare, German-made, hard-to-identify solid body electric with a bolt-on neck, two single coil pickups, and a very cool tremolo. It has master tone and volume controls, and on/off switches for each pickup. The pots date it to 1965. It's in excellent overall condition, with a few scuff marks, and some deep finish checks. Price includes a clean period-correct looking, possibly original chipboard case. (picture - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 - 11)

Used Agile 3200 Les Paul copy at Pittsburgh Guitars DiPinto Belvedere
Created by DiPinto to resemble the look and feel of the old sixties molded plastic bodies, this guitar features a patented double layer, semi-hollow mahogany body in gold/black finish, bolt-on maple neck with bound fingerboard and dot inlays, and two "vintage twang" humbuckers with 3-way switching. It's exceptionally clean, in A+ condition. Price includes gig bag. (picture - 2 - 3 - 4)

Used Eastwood Stormbird at Pittsburgh Guitars 2009 Eastwood Stormbird
Black finish and in excellent-plus condition, with no dings or chips, and no visible playwear. Features include a solid basswood body with set maple neck, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot markers, and two Vintage EW P-90 pickups with 3-way switching. It does not have a case. (picture - 2)

Key to Descriptions

Before we sell any used instrument, we send it through our repair shop for a complete set up. But because they're used, we've worked out the following descriptions to let you know how used they are. We'll be happy to give you more information via phone or email.

Mint Condition--like new, no wear
Excellent condition
--some play wear, maybe some small dings or light surface scratches
Very good condition
--a few scratches, some dings and/or lacquer chips, but structurally sound, normal play wear
Good condition--structurally sound, has been played a lot, some repairs or cosmetic flaws possible
Fair condition--a well-loved guitar, may have some problems, but we'll describe them as accurately as possible
