2013 National Resophonic M-1 Tricone Resonator 12-Fret in Satin Mahogany, Comes with Original Hard Case and Pro-Setup
Categories
Here we have a 2013 National Resophonic M-1 Tricone Resonator 12-fret in Satin Mahogany Finish! This instrument features a 3-ply Mahogany body, round Mahogany neck, Ebony fingerboard w/ 16 in. radius, 3-on a plate-tuners w/ National engraving, Nickel hardware, bone nut, and ivoroid binding. This is a straight-up 12-fret tricone resonator; it does not come with any add-on electronics/pickups. The M-1 Mahogany is a recent extension of the National Resonator line, providing players the “warm” response of a wood body vs. metal. To our ears, the M-1 might be a touch louder compared to metal body tricones (please consider this a subjective opinion although).
It is in excellent+ condition; there very little player wear to speak of! There are a few very tiny dings/blemishes, and 1 finish/paint crack from a screw on the resonator cover plate. There are also a few picking scuffs on the reso cover plate, but were too difficult to photograph. (Please see photo documentation of the minor cosmetic wear described and overall condition).
This M-1 comes with the original hard case; and it has been professionally setup by our shop repairman. The setup was done with 12-guage strings; PLEASE let us know if you prefer the heavier 13-guage strings before we pack up and ship the instrument! This clean M-1 is ready for its next home; please feel free to message us about this 2013 National M-1 Tricone!
Below is the description and specs from National Guitars:
After years of research and development, we are proud to introduce our new wood-body M-1 Tricone. With its mahogany body and traditional aluminum resonating cones and T-bridge, the M-1 is truly extraordinary: It boasts the traditional styling and resonator sound of a classic metal Tricone, but with the beloved warmth and depth of tone that a wood-bodied guitar adds. Featuring vintage Tricone styling, the M-1 is constructed of laminated mahogany, highlighted by a sturdy wood soundwell and a hand-painted steel coverplate. The mahogany neck is capped by an ivoroid-bound ebony fingerboard with dot inlays and a vintage-style slotted headstock. A big plus is that the M-1 weighs some three pounds less than its metal-bodied counterpart, yet it gives up nothing in sound. The mahogany provides its own, distinguished tone, combining the unmistakable sound of a Tricone with a rich, deep, full tone.
