*Notes: This bass was a custom shop order of the German ’61 LTD 500/1 Cavern model, shipped from Germany to the US as a white-unfinished bass, and then finished in the USA shop that they use for custom shop finishes. The US distributor does that occasionally. That is why the certificate is not filled out. A customer purchased this instrument from us as a brand new B-stock bass (B-stock because of finish blems), had the strap button installed by us, and then decided to return it about 2 weeks later toward the last Hofner 60th Anniversary ’63 500/1 Bass that we had at our store. Handmade in Germany, this bass is a replica of the `61 model that Paul McCartney once bought in Hamburg. It has a dark sunburst finish, two close-spaced Hofner Diamond Nickel pickups, and features a a spruce top and flame maple back and sides, a 3-piece maple/beech/maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, and the classic Hofner control panel. It is one of the most iconic bass guitars ever made!
