New Danelectro ’59 Divine 3-Pickup Prototype, Dark Walnut Finish

We got some really cool “prototype” guitars from our friends at Danelectro, including this one: a 3-pickup `59 Divine. Originally launched in 1959 as the “Deluxe,” the `59 Divine reissue features a double-cutaway Shorthorn shape, with a semi-hollow body with center block, walnut top and back, and on this guitar, three Vintage 50’s Lipstick pickups. It has a maple bolt-on neck with a Pau Ferro fingerboard, an adjustable 6-saddle bridge, and stacked tone and volume controls, with pointer knobs.

Of the Vintage 50’s, Danelectro says the magnets are “…sand cast Alnico 6, just like the old ones. The Lipstick tubes are 80/20 brass zinc, just like the tubes Danelectro bought from cosmetics maker Max Factor back in the day. These Vintage 50’s Pickups kick out warm lows, searing mids and sweet highs. These babies sing!”
