Used Deering Goodtime Blackgrass 5-String Resonator Banjo w/ “Midnight” Maple Fingerboard; Comes with After-Market Gator Hard Case and Pro-Setup

Here we have a used, USA made, Deering Goodtime Blackgrass 5-String Resonator Banjo w/ “Midnight” Maple Fingerboard!  (For clarification, this is the standard Blackgrass banjo; it is NOT the Blackgrass Special).  The banjo was presumably manufactured in 2023 based on the SN# and other # codes, but cannot confirm 100%.  This instrument is very clean and in Excellent Condition!  There are only a few small condition marks to speak of: On the back of the headstock are 2 very tiny nicks; and the back body/resonator shows 3 small blemish spots in the finish.  (Please refer to the photo documentation provided).  It came to us with an after-market Gator hard case, and it has been professionally setup by our shop repairman.  Below is the description and specs from the Deering website; and please feel free to message us about the used Deering Goodtime Blackgrass 5-String Resonator Banjo!

FEATURING MIDNIGHT MAPLE FINGERBOARD AND VINTAGE ARTISAN INSPIRED INLAYS!

The Goodtime Blackgrass is the ultimate banjo for players looking for something a little on the darker side.  The pure black stain of the all maple wood is accented with matte black hardware and a black head which combine to put a dark twist on an otherwise traditional instrument. 

Built exclusively by Deering Banjo Co, the Blackgrass is built in the same San Diego factory as all other Deering models and has a familiar Goodtime vibe that echoes some of the aesthetics as the new Goodtime Artisan line.  The Midnight Maple fingerboard is inlaid with Artisan style Pearloid inlays and the banjo still features the ever-present 3-ply violin grade maple for optimum tone and resonance.

The Blackgrass also features spikes at 7, 9, and 10.  The use of spikes enables you to expand your playing from the key of G to easily play in the keys of A, B, and C.
