Shipping Information

As an authorized dealer for brands such as Yamaha, Martin, Gretsch, and Rickenbacker we will only ship to confirmed addresses within the United States and Washington DC. Many other products are included in this list. Please contact the shop for information.

Products marked with free shipping are only authorized to ship within the continental United States and Washington DC. Free shipping does not include Alaska, Hawaii, or other territories of the US.

Pittsburgh Guitars reserves the right to pick the shipping mode for items that include free shipping. The shipping mode is typically UPS ground for large items and USPS for smaller items.

All items must ship to the confirmed address that is associated with your credit card. This is typically the billing address. Some card companies will let you add an alternate shipping address to your file. All addresses must be verified. This is for the protection of us and the consumer.

Payment

For orders within the US, we accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover, and PayPal with a confirmed address. No CODs.

We do not accept credit cards or PayPal for overseas orders. Payment for overseas purchases may be made by Moneygram or through Western Union. The customer is responsible for all duties, tariffs, and taxes. Please contact us prior to purchasing an item.

Shipping

We ship UPS Ground and USPS in the US unless otherwise requested. Most items are shipped “Signature Required” and therefore will not be delivered unless someone signs for receipt of the package. The customer is responsible for all shipping/insurance charges. Your item may not be shipped in the original manufacturers’ carton since we double-box many items. We pack things here better than the manufacturers do! Shipping charges are non-refundable.

We make every attempt to ship orders within 1-2 business days. For guitars and other stringed instruments, a full inspection is done prior to shipment to provide the best playability. That factor may cause a slight delay in shipping. Additionally, each player has unique requirements and we cannot guarantee that your instrument will not need to be tweaked slightly after you receive it, to meet your unique tastes.

We pack every instrument safely and securely and have never had an instrument damaged in shipping. However, we realize that anything is possible. Insurance claims are the responsibility of the customer, but we’ll be happy to help you with any claims.

Internet Returns

We provide a 24-hour approval period for every instrument that we ship (we augment this policy during winter months when a carton should warm to room temperature before opening). You will have 24 hours from the receipt of any instrument shipped to you to let us know, via telephone, that you would like to return it. Please save the packing materials so you can ship it back in the same box. If you need to return an item, it must be in resalable condition. Resalable Condition means that the product(s) is in exactly the same condition as it was when you received it.

All return shipping and full insurance costs are the customer’s responsibility. All returns must be pre-paid. Items must be shipped fully insured via FedEx, UPS, or USPS. In the event that the product is not in the same condition as you received it, you may be subject to a restocking fee. We will issue a refund for the purchase price of the instrument, minus shipping costs and a restocking fee, once the instrument is returned to us in the condition in which it was shipped. If an item is returned that was purchased with a “Free Shipping” promo, the exact cost of the outbound shipping charges will be deducted from the refund.

In-Store Returns

In-store returns are typically not eligible for refunds and may qualify for a store credit applied to another item or applied to your store account for a future purchase.

Defective Items

If you purchased an item and it is not functioning correctly, Pittsburgh Guitars may determine that the item needs replaced or repaired.

PLEASE NOTE: New merchandise carries the factory warranty provided by the manufacturer to the purchaser. However, Pittsburgh Guitars offers no other warranties at all on any item purchased, including but not limited to warranties or merchantability of fitness for any particular purpose. In addition, Pittsburgh Guitars assumes no liability for any incidental or consequential damages resulting from any aspect of any electronic components sold by Pittsburgh Guitars or installed in any instrument or amplifier.
