Now in stock, the Hofner “Artist” 500/1 violin bass! Fully hollow, it features a spruce top and flame maple back and sides, with black/white/black binding. It has a set maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard and pearl dot inlays. And the classic Hofner sound comes from two Hofner Staple pickups, with the traditional pearl control panel.

Modeled after the 1963 500/1 made famous by Paul McCartney, this German-made bass comes with a sunburst hi-gloss poly finish, making it available at an affordable price point. It comes with a hard case, certificate of authenticity, and lots of case candy!

The hi-gloss poly finish ensures that this bass will take the knocks and bangs of life on the road.
